Extreme, freeform, crochet throw: What do you think?

Submitted by glammamamma:

Ulysses

I made this some time ago, & not wanting to join small squares together, as I didn’t know how, as a newbie, I just kept on crocheting!

I started with a a regular sized crochet hook, then ended up with a 20mm wooden hook!  I used mainly double crochet throughout.

‘Ulysses’, has 8 points, not intentional, and I kept going until I ran out of yarn!

I have no idea what it weighs, or what size it is, but it’s longer than my large sofa bed!

Hope you like it.

What did you think of our 15-Day Challenge???

Thanks so much for contributing all of your questions/challenges to create this event, and thank you to everyone who participated! :D  I hope you had fun completing the challenges, and more important, I hope you got the chance to meet other crochet lovers and learn more about them.

Like I’ve said before,  I started this Tumblr because I really wanted to create a place where we could all meet each other, support each other, and generally share our love for this craft.  I pitched the idea of the 15-Day Challenge as a way for bloggers to start interacting within our community, and I hope that goal has been achieved.  :)

.

If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback (good or bad) regarding any of the following questions:

1. What did you think of the 15-Day experience?  Did anyone complete the whole 15 days consecutively? :P  (I totally failed)

2. How could it be improved if we do this again in the future?

3. Did you look at each post’s notes before/after to see how other crocheters completed the challenge?

4. Did you check out others’ blogs and meet new crocheters because of this event?

5. How could we encourage more interaction between community members in the future? (One way: I’ll be featuring crocheters who posted photos on Day 1 of our challenge as a way to link names with faces, so I hope you’ll say hi to those who are featured! :P)

Feel free to answer below this post or in my ask box.

Thanks again for being a part of the 15-Day Challenge and for being a part of this blog! <3

Submitted by cocoscrochet: Attached are two photos of my newest creation for my shop. They are turban style headwarmers that I then sewed a big feather onto.
I also attached buttons on the back to make it adjustable to anyones head!
I hope you like my crochet creation, I would love for you to share it on your fabulous crochet blog!!!

Enjoy your weekend,
Coco

cyberphuk: HELP???

Submitted by cyberphuk :

Hi I’m introducing myself :3 I just started crocheting granny squares for an afghan and am a horrible beginner… my squares, no matter how carefully I make them, always come out lumpy and a little uneven, nothing like the neat and tidy ones I see online. Is it the cheap yarn I’m using? A need for more practice? Not enough tension on the yarn? I have no idea, and I don’t live near anyone who could help me in person. Ayudame?

That first pic is three of the different colors I’ve used for the squares.

this second pic is one of my most recent squares, using the “pumpkin” color of the red heart brand, purchased from that most high-class and exclusive of establishments, Rite-Aid. The crochet hook is plastic and is a size H.

featuring the whole shebang, including the bag I made out of a grain sack, diet pepsi, car keys, the remains of dinner, three of my thirty-odd squares, and a skein of gray yarn.

I’m following a “pattern” explained by the very nice and patient lady in this series of videos. One day when I grow up I’d like to be able to look at the abbreviations in traditional crochet patterns and not weep in terror.

kirstyandstuff: What am I doing wrong?

Submitted by kirstyandstuff: Okay so, I’m hoping some of you guys can help me xD I’m making baby booties; the pattern has a straight seam going up the side where the rounds are joined. My seam veers off though, and I keep finding that although I’ve finished the round in terms of how many stitches there -should- be, I still have stitches left to crochet into before I reach the start of the round. (So I’ve added stitches somehow, but the round before was fine, and I havent inc’d or anything…) Help? What am I doing wrong? D:

About

Welcome, and thank you for joining us! :) My goal for we-love-crocheting.tumblr.com is to be very community-focused. It’s not going to be all about me, my experiences, and my finds. I really just wanted to create a place where we could all meet each other, support each other (since I KNOW many of us need that extra push to finally finish our projects… at least I do), and generally share our love for this craft. This blog is not just mine, it’s OURS! :)

PLEASE BE SUBMISSION-HAPPY (a.k.a. please share lots of content with us)! Photos, tips, advice, WIPs, questions, videos, stories, patterns, tutorials, etc. Whether it’s something you’ve created yourself, or something you just really admire, please share!

Happy crocheting, my friends.

Come and visit often! :)

<3 Josephine
